X-362 / Ayoob
Fictional carrier-borne fighter

An early license-built carrier-borne jet fighter, operated by SPM’s Naval Air Arm as its first jet fighter. Issues with domestic engine development and the rapidly advancing field of fighter development led to the Ayoob beginning rotation out of front line service a mere four years after it entered fleet squadrons. Although the premier fighters of the day replaced it in Marina service, uprated versions of the Ayoob were transferred to reserve Army Aviation units to be used as ground attack platforms. Several dozen Ayoobs were sold to neighboring countries using legally grey tactics to evade the licensed type’s export ban from the original country of origin, exacerbating Sol Perdido’s troubles and controversies in the alliance.
