About this plane

This is an aircraft I started building a long time ago, and finally decided to finish it. It's as close to 1:1 scale as I've managed, with a cockpit as realistic as I dare to make. It even comes with its own startup sequence, although it isn't very complicated.

Designing this iconic plane I've tried to keep in mind the performance expected of it, and while it won't hit the real specs, in SimplePlanes it will feel like a real Spitfire.
Other than that, I've tried to make it VR compatible, but it's still pending testing, as I don't have access to a headset all the time.

Controls

  • Pitch, Roll,Yaw and Trim as usual
  • Action group 1 for Flaps
  • Action groups 2 & 3 to start up the engine -no particular order is required.
  • It comes with cannos for air to air and air to ground, and while it is possible to run out of ammo, there's plenty

More instructions

Take off is as follows:

  • Flaps are not used in takeoff
  • Trim half nose up
  • Don't look at the speed, keep the aircraft pointed down the runway and pull up as soon as the tail lifts. Shortly after you'll be up
  • Gear up

Landing is also challenging, but keep this in mind:

  • Your approach speed should be around 120 mph
  • Touchdown gently and below 100 mph
  • Be very gentle with the rudder at high speeds on the ground

And that would be all! As you can see, I tried to keep it simple, it can be easily flown with keyboard and mouse, but it still has its quirks, in order not to bore more profficient pilots. Thank you for reading and fly safe! I really hope you enjoy my plane!
