This is because they are xml-modded to be bigger with the same weight as the original. For example take the primary wing you take right out of the parts menu, which weighs 22 pounds. Therefore the xml-modded one would also weigh 22 pounds but be 4 times the size. Which means that the modded one is 25% the density of the original. With all this weight reduction on a glider this plane can stay level in the air and maintain a top speed of 145 mph. The fuel source is also modded for mathematically infinite fuel.
