the sea star is a torpedo bomber made for the U.S. navy during the second world war. it was made to be a superior aircraft to the current U.S. torpedo bomber the TBF Avenger. This though was not as good as the TBF Avenger and was not produced, though 341 were entered into service. Many of these were shot down, experts say around 183, but one man did become an ace with this aircraft, his name was Samson wheeler. His plane, sea serpent, got him 3 cargoship sinks, and 14 damaged cruisers, and cargo ships. He made 200 missions with his plane but on the 201 he was shot down by a cruiser. This plane was not the best carrier aircraft so it was mostly operated at bases for defence from enemy ships.
