NISSAN Y31 Cedric

Let's enjoy the old sedans of the past.

•Car Description

HISTORY

The Nissan Cedric was a sedan-type luxury passenger car manufactured by Nissan from 1960 to 2014. Along with its sister car, the Gloria, it was a long-time competitor with the Toyota Crown in its class, not only as a private car, but also as a cab, hire car, police car, and driving school vehicle. The lineup included sedan and hardtop models, as well as light vans and wagons, depending on the model year.

Cedric is derived from the name of the protagonist of Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel "little lord fauntleroy", Cedric.

This Y31 model is the seventh generation of the Cedric, which was introduced in 1987, Only the 4-door hardtop and 4-door sedan were newly developed as the Y31 series, while the station wagon was a continuation of the WY30 series. It was the last generation of the Cedric hardtop without a center pillar, and it was also the first Cedric body that did not have a station wagon or van because the budget was taken up by the development of the Cima, which was announced later.

    The Cedric is a car that holds a lot of memories for me, as it was actually owned by my grandfather in the past. (^-^)

    @MintLynx Thanks for the comment!
    The beacon alone did not look like the real thing, so we used glass parts and pistons to create it.

    Neat method for the lights there, I was confused at seeing light where there was seemingly no beacons in sight, only to look and see the clever use of pistons and hyper-opacity glass!
