The Liberty Systems LSM-350 Enhanced Long Range is a THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) system developed for the Japanese military. The 350 variant introduces a larger more powerful missile able to reach ranges of 400km and was specifically designed to engage high value stand off targets such as AWACS, Tanking assets,etc... at a speed of Mach 7. It carries its own indigenous radar but is not reliant on it. It can receive launch and guidance info from other assets such as AWACS, Ship or other ground based radars. It will usually be fielded in Battalions of 8 launchers with a dedicated Radar and C&C vehicle as well. The LSM-350 is one of the cornerstones of an ambitious integrated air defense system to include AWACS, Fighter aircraft, SAM's. etc... less
