Lightning Aircraft Industries G5-D Phantom
SPECIAL MENTIONS:
Thank you to Othawne for the landing gear.
HISTORY:
In 2002, the RAF thought that the E3-D Sentry would need another aircraft to work alongside. This other aircraft would be a smaller alternative to the E-3D for missions that didn't require the E3-D, which would operate on longer missions.
The RAF decided to ask Lightning Aircraft Industries for such an aircraft. The company accepted and by 2005, the G5-D 'Phantom' took to the skies for the first time.
The G5-D Phantom is an AWACS aircraft that operates alongside the E3-D Sentry as an alternative for smaller missions. Unlike the E3-D, The G5-D was driven by 4 LAI KLF-655D Turbo-prop engines which at 32,000 feet, pushed the aircraft to 502 mph. The G5-D was also equipped with an LAI GF-5000 Rotodome radar. This radar was the first rotodome radar produced by Lightning Aircraft Industries, but it was quite successful alongside the G5-D.
The inside of the fuselage is filled with special technology which is classified, but most of it is to do with the radar. It also had a decent range, but not as large as the E3-D. In total, 75 were produced from 2004 to 2018, just beating out the E3-D.
The G5-D Phantom is still in use today around the world.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Maximum speed: 502 mph (at 32,000 ft)
Fuel Load: 4,477 gal
Range(in SP): Wright Airport to Snowstone Island
Service Ceiling: 32,000 ft
Powerplant: 4 x LAI KLF-655D Turbo-prop
CONTROLS:
AG-1: Activate Rotodome Radar
AG-2: Nose Wheel
AG-3: Reverse Thrust
AG-4: Landing Lights
AG-5: Navigation, Tail and Beacon lights
AG-6: Strobe Lights
VTOL-DOWN: Flaps
TAKEOFF AND LANDING:
For takeoff, set flaps to half and throttle up to 100%. When 155 mph is reached, liftoff. Raise the nose the second line on the SP artificial horizon, retract the landing gear, and climb away.
For landing, approach at 150 mph with full flap. Touch down at 130 mph

CREATOR NOTES:
I made the TurboProp engines myself by putting the 3rd propeller engine into the shell along with a Turbo-Fan jet engine that only provides sound.
I can't get the radar to stop spinning when deactivated. If you can fix that, then be my guest.

@FeatherWing the aircraft's potential
or i guess your "potential" on the aircraft's performance and design
@TheDerpingMemes
...yeahhh..noo..
(Also, why did you have to comment about my "potential" on this post off all posts?)
@FeatherWing
we are still watching
@TheDerpingMemes
...Right...Okay then..
information about CLevic can be found here
@FeatherWing Lightning Aircraft Industries have very potential aircraft and forming a partnership with CLevic can benefit both companies and the militia ran by CLevic

@TheDerpingMemes
Who?
@FeatherWing
CLevic is watching Lightning Aircraft Industries
@TheDerpingMemes
Say what now?
CLevic is watching LAI
@Mustang51
Not as large as the E-3D Sentry (I know from experience), just a bit larger than half the size of the E-3D
@ND40X how large is this supposed to be?
@Mustang51
Also, it seems that I have had the person in the seat scaled wrong, so my builds are actually larger that they should be irl
@ND40X ahhh I see. It’s still a little too large for the airframe but what you were going for makes more sense now
@Mustang51
Yeah, the thing about the integrated cockpit, I might try that at some point, but I was trying to go with an Avro Vulcan look on the canopy
oi this is LIT!
Mustang's flare has been sighted
This is really nicely made! The shape is pretty unique but it works well. The internals of the cockpit look really really good and those engines are superb! Swept wings with props looks really good so I was happy to see that here. The only thing I would think about changing is having the cockpit a little more integrated with the rest of the fuselage. I do get that it is quite hard to do though and this cockpit is decent from the outside so it doesn’t take away from the planes aesthetic too much. Very well done man!
