On to the actual stuff:
Not just any Vertigo
Project AURORA included a fleet of air-to-ground attack UAV's built to make small airstrikes on specific targets much easier without much pilot intervention. These recomissioned Vertigo jets had a unmanned system so that a single pilot could be stationed and monitor multiple jets at the same time. If one jet was in danger, the pilot could switch over that plane to manual mode to fend off the enemy by radio control. Blah blah blah nobody reads this stuff anyway.

Plane: The first tests were on a modified Vertigo jet where the VTOL system was replaced with two modified j50 engines. The Vertigo offered the stability of a high wing aircraft while still being able to handle well at high speeds. However, the AURORA system can work on many forms of aircraft with minimal tuning, such as bombers or even civilian aircraft.

Unmanned system/controls: Haha i tricked ya here it still has some (wo)man-in-the-loop interference.
Actually read this part
To start the jet, start at either ground or air location with a decent landing strip (no carriers) or just in the air with some inital airspeed. Make sure you are far away (on different island) than your target. Press 1 within 15 seconds of starting the level, and press either 2 or 3 to set your target (Ice base and USS beast respectively, to find out how to set other targets plz ask in the comments) within 45 seconds. Adjust your VTOL to match the altitude you want; default is 10,000 feet approx., and it can adjust up and down a bit from there. The aircraft should settle at your preferred altitude if it works correctly. Raise the gear after you take off (duh) and you should be all set until you arrive at your target.

Once you arrive at the target, you can use the selection of weaponry you have to destroy your target. You will have to do this manually as FT does not work with weapon activation, though it should be easy as you are on a straight course that will intersect perfectly with the target every time, even with strong winds. (fake advertising) You have 2 bombs, 2 torpedoes, and 1 cleaver at your disposal. press 4 to drop all weapons (except cleaver)

If you deactivate 1, you will be able to enter manual mode, in which the plane can fly normally. This is useful both for landing (not yet programmed on the plane) and for avoiding anti-aircraft measures from your enemies, which you will encounter on both targets.

If you get bored of watching the plane fly itself, use fast forward; the plane will function normally still. (some planes malfuntion in fast forward, this is not one)

FT Engineering: This plane uses various loops and tactics to properly get the plane to fly, but it would be difficult to make a whole guide about them here. If you are curious about how the FT commands work in this plane please say so in the comments, and I will make a forum post about how to make the autopilot.
