Escuadrón Aéreo de Pelea (201st fighter squadron) was part of the Mexican expeditionary force, which flew P-47 fighters in the close air support role. They adopted the name "Aztec Eagles" during their time in training. They flew over 750 combat sorties during their service in the pacific.
