The P-47 Thunderbolt was a fighter of United States origin designed during world war II. It was ome of the fastest single engine fighters of world war II. Escuadrón Aéreo de Pelea (201st fighter squadron) was part of the Mexican expeditionary force, which flew P-47 fighters in the close air support role. They adopted the name "Aztec Eagles" during their time in training. They flew over 750 combat sorties during their service in the pacific.
