Vehicle Background:

• The M551 Sheridan(ELKE) or Elevated Kinetic Energy is a tank that was created and tested at the same time as the HSTV(High Survivability Test Vehicles). The M551 Sheridan Hull was use as the basis for the whole elevating gun platform and it was designed to shoot over defilades, shooting at hull-down positions, and ambushing enemy vehicles. It is equipped with an auto loading 75mm XM274 Auto Cannon that shoots APFSDS rounds to easily penetrate enemy armor at close to mid distances the same gun that is used by the HSTV-L Tank. Despite it's practicality on certain aspects the complexity of the turret and the maintenance it needs made it impractical and thus never made into mass production and was only built during testing phase.
