Sir Haydn was originally built for the Corris Railway in 1878 until its closure in 1948, since 1951 Haydn has been working for the Talyllyn Railway under the number 3, he was the inspiration behind Reverend Wilbert Awdry's Sir Handel (Falcon) who used to work in the Sodor and Midland Railway until its closure but was bought by the Skarloey Railway.
