Armstrong-Bréguet 14

A fictional bomber from World War One, a joint construction between a French and an English aviation bureau. The Armstrong-Bréguet 14, with its three 250 pound bombs was a very successful aircraft early in the war.
However, as the designers seem to have forgotten that large, slow aircraft are typically subject to attack, they only put one machine gun in the entire plane. This, in turn, made it incredibly easy to shoot down. The only hope of defending yourself of any attack that was not head-on was to use your sidearm, a pistol, to shoot down the attacking plane. For obvious reasons, this did not work all too well.
