Kawasaki Ki-100 Goshikisen
In the mid 1940s Japan produced the Kawasaki Ki-61, nicknamed Tony, using the Kawasaki Ha-40 engine, a licensed copy of the German DB-601. But, the engine factory was bombed by the Americans and hundreds of Ki-61 airframes were without engines. So in emergency, Kawasaki decided to use the Mitsubishi Ha-12-II engine, only one big issue. The Ha-12 is a 14 cylinder radial engine, while the Ha-40 is an inverted V-12. So, Kawasaki decided to base the cowling and engine mount off the German Fw-190, resulting in the Ki-100. Also known as the “Type 5”, this aircraft was loved by the pilots, being harolded as one of the best fighters produced by Japan, some liking it more than the original Ki-61. A unique aircraft that’s not well known, I thought it deserved a place here on SimplePlanes. I may improve down the line, or would love to see how you guys can improve it

@SchadeAircaftCompany Sounds great. Have fun. are you visiting any aviation museums in Japan?
Appreciate it, at least I get to explore Japan a little bit, which is also why I have been making Japanese planes lately because it inspires me being here@WinsWings
