AG 1-3 for rockets.
The Tempest MK II was powered by the Bristol Centaurus V 18-cylinder two row radial engine. The origins of the Tempest II can be traced to a proposal by Hawker Aircraft for a Typhoon MK II whith a radial engine. The prototype of the Centaurus-Typhoon MK II was abandoned without being flown because sufficient experience had already been amassed with the Centaurus-powered Tornado, another Hawker design. However, delays in the engine's development meant that the MK II entered service after the MK V, which had a Napier Sabre engine. From Arcraft Anatomy Of World War II Page 136
