IAR-85T - assault version of the IAR-85 heavy fighter. Armed with four machine guns in the initial version, in the T2 modification - one 50 mm cannon, in the T3 modification - two 37 mm cannons. Developed in 1937 by IAR. The first prototype was built in 1939 by a factory in Brasov. The aircraft is designed to destroy enemy groups on the ground, for this it can carry up to one ton of bombs of various calibers, from twenty 50 kilograms to two 500 kilograms. From September to October 1939, he was tested at five different ranges in different parts of Romania. In November, the first three aircraft were put into service. Mass production began in February 1940. In total, 45 T3 modification machines, 55 T2 modifications and 100 T modifications were assembled. There is no World War II in the lore of our universe, and in its place there are several local conflicts. During the Romanian-Bulgarian War of 1941, three Romanian squadrons were equipped with IAR-85T/T2/T3 aircraft. One of them was in Bucharest, the other in Brasov, the third in Constanta. The Bucharest Squadron participated in the Dobruja operation, and during this particular conflict, the IARs showed their best side. The most balanced aircraft was the T3 modification with two 37mm cannons. In total, the losses of the Romanian IARs in the war amounted to 7 vehicles - 3 T3, 2 T and 2 T2. After the war, IARs were used as reconnaissance aircraft and light bombers, but with the beginning of a new jet era, the aircraft were forgotten. In October 1956, the last IAR-85T was decommissioned and to this day is stored in the Aviation Museum in Bucharest (if everything written above is nonsense of the author of the aircraft)
