Sikorsky J-97 Mod. 1964
An experimental Helicopter that has more versatility than it can practically use. The designer of the Aircraft: Sikorsky first drafted the J-97 mod. 1964 in the beginning of the Vietnam War for multi-purpose use. The Sikorsky J-97 Mod.1964 is a very inovative aircraft as instead of a jet and a huge propeller to propell the helicopter, it uses two small engines mounted on small wings that acts as the thrust and the up/down movement as it can oscilate on its mountings 35* either way. However, the small engines can’t start until the first button is pressed. The jet is just for emergency and can be turned on via 2 button. Because of it’s complex machinery, its only used by the communists in Vietnam War in 1965, a full year after the production started. Only 6 were used during the war and none survived today.
