Drakon Dynamics DRA-07X Nyx
Following the imminent retirement of some of their fighters, the Lykanian Air Force began the FF program, which sought to determine which aircraft would replace the retiring ones. Drakon Dynamics presented the DRA-07 Nyx, a fierce air superiority fighter. While not as stealthy as some of Lykania's current fighters, it is fitted with some of Drakon's most up-to-date and advanced technology, weapons, and engines. While still only a developmental aircraft in Drakon's books, the LAF already appears interested. The Nyx may very well be Lykania's next air superiority fighter.
It's been a while since I've uploaded a build. This one is quite special to me. Let me show you what the Nyx has in store. To start, I'm in love with the Nyx's cockpit. While I did take some pieces from some of the starter SP planes (as I am HORRIBLE with funky trees and such), it is one of my best cockpits to date. Everything is interactable in some way or another. I even went as far as adding yaw pedals. While it was an absolute pain to build, the final product was worth it.
Now, for the rest of the plane. I believe this is the first plane I have built that features fully animated missile bays and such, rather than just a black rectangle that's supposed to represent depth. Due to the complexity of the build, however, I did not add custom landing gear as that is out of my area of expertise. If you wish to give it a shot, go for it. The jet does have a slight issue with balance, as it tends to list of the right just a pinch. If you're flying sporadically, this shouldn't be a problem. I've tried everything from weight to connections, and nothing seemed to fix it. Again, if you wish to take a look, go for it. Just please let me know so that I can improve my techniques. I'd really appreciate. Before we move on to activation groups and controls, here's a quick gallery:
The activation groups for this build are quite simple. If you're playing in VR, don't be frightened by the sheer amount of buttons and switches, you'll only need to press 4 or 5, heh.
Activation Group 1 will activate your engines. There is nothing else to it. This is the first white button on the left side of the cockpit.
Activation Groups 2, 3, and 4 are all unused. Should you make any additions, these are available.
Activation Group 5 will lower the arresting hook, should you want to facilitate carrier landings.
Activation Group 6 will activate the main gun. It designed it to appear similar to a laser gun, similar to a PSLS system. It is pretty effective.
Activation Group 7 will activate combat mode, arming all of your missiles and opening their bays.
Finally, Activation Group 8 controls your lights. It is auto-enabled at the start, but can, of course, be deactivated at any time.
And that covers it all. I hope that, as long as the minor flaws don't bother you, you enjoy this build as much as I do. In my eyes, the painstaking work paid off in the end.
To AM 07.

Interesting fuselage design, though questionable engine nozzle. Good performance otherwise, though hiding the gun up front could help with aesthetics I think.
Alright boys, todays mission involves destroying California... Trigger don't get happy alright?!
