PLAAF Q/A-5
Q-5/A-5, (NATO code: Fantan) strike aircraft, is China's reference to the J-6 (Soviet MiG-19) fighter developed a single-seat double-shot supersonic strike aircraft.
Q-5 is China's first strike aircraft designed and built in the late 1950s by Hongdu Aviation Industry Group(formerly Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Plant), a Chinese aerospace industry group. The aircraft began development in 1958, the first flight in June 1965, the end of the same year through the initial design of the stereotypes. The machine has a variety of modifications. The Q-5 series has been in mass production since 1968 and was last delivered on 25 October 2012.
The Q-5 series of aircraft of various types are heavily equipped with The Chinese Air Force and Navy AirMen, and have become one of the main combat models of China's ground attack. The Q-5 fighter won the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 1985 and is China's first export combat aircraft
