The SB-K J8M2 Yamaarashi or "Mountain Storm" (Allied code name: Jesse) was a twin engined bomber used by the United Peoples Republic of Hon-Kain in the eve of the Second Global War and through the early days of the Hon-Kain Crisis.
Known for its unique shape, and high speed for its time as Hon-Kain's first Jet bomber, the J8M2 sacrificed armor around the rear gunners to also balance the weight of the aircraft due to the front wing being built so unusually close to the nose of the aircraft, to remedy the issue partially, the gunners were shielded from the jet exhaust by hydraulically driven shields that also prohibited visibility to the gunner positions.
taken from the left gunner of another J8M2; A J8M2 with a KKI.4 Sakura in tow heading towards an Iosian fleet - the fleet would suffer 4 destroyed ships, all from the bombs of the J8M2, the only damage done by a KKI.4 Sakura was done to the IFS Python, which made a return to port
Initially; The J8M2 was designed with a tow hook near the tail of the aircraft to carry a single KKI.4 Sakura behind the aircraft. Although this proved to be extremely problematic to both aircraft due to the aditional weight of the Sakura paired with its minimal abiltiy to steer unpowered. The project was eventually scrapped once the Sakura was retired at the end of the Second Global War.
Taken from inside a KKI.4 Sakura; note the tow chain was connected to the Sakura just above the warhead
