Me-163 Komet13

Messerschmitt Komet B Model. Firstly, I'd like to state that this is my first community upload. I hope everyone enjoys this build as much as I have had the pleasure of bringing her to life. I'll keep this relatively short, takeoff procedures include... 1) I would suggest a fast acceleration takeoff, the off centered rear landing gear will cause the plane to pull to the left, this can be countered with a slight application of yaw. You'd be surprised how quickly this aircraft gets airborne. 2) AG(1) will release the undercarriage landing dolly. 3) The elevators work reverse of the original model to my knowledge, but the same effect is achieved. 4) True the original, fuel is limited and you will not have a long time in the air. 5) The landing skid is operational! I would suggest an approach of sub 180 mph to land, keep it level and tap the brakes to come to a stop. Also, the less fuel you have remaining the more you will be able to control your pitch when landing. Enjoy!
EDIT 1: The skid only works in Grassy flat terrain. There is too much friction on the runway.
EDIT 2: I have placed a very small cockpit on the front. It gives a clear line of sight for those who enjoy 1st person flight. This can be switched for the main cockpit as to prevent the smaller one from reaching 2000 mph on impact.
EDIT 3: Adding another inlet will significantly increase engine power, the single inlet was used to scale to closer speeds of the original aircraft.

@Flash0of0green No changing the past, that is certain. However like you stated, the technological advances that could of been brought to light would of been most interesting. A trifecta of super powers would of made for a most interesting cold war scenario.

Perhaps maybe if Germany had the funds and material to participate in the cold war are technological progress would be higher. However the Nazis committed atrocious acts and I do not regret the outcome of the war. @Akrimonious

@Flash0of0green it would of been a very interesting time if the Germans could of prolonged the war. Their technology was astonishing. Many if's and or's surround the World Wars!

If you think about it would've also addressed some of the issues they had in development. they were trying to make an safe Single Man aircraft capable, Quick take off to shoot down enemy bombers. The issues are ran into where it was unsafe when landing. It took extreme amounts of land to land and you could only land one aircraft at a time do too that issue. recovery of the craft was difficult due to limited production of the vehicle used to transport it easily fixable with the crane and boat.@Akrimonious

@Flash0of0green Definitely! That would of been an interesting concept and use for the Komet. I have taken off from the USS Tiny a few times!

Personally I think it be interesting to see if the Germans could have turned it into a aircraft carrier support jet. Unfortunately that technology didn't come around until much later after the program was scrapped.@Akrimonious

@Flash0of0green Yeah, overall from what I've read, the project was a failure given the victory to loss ratio as well as being very limited in its applicable uses. That being said, the technology was a big leap forward. Many of the pilots of this program went on to fly the ME 262.

I was just reeding about this in an weapons of World War II book I own. Evidently they were not very effective at their job and had numerous issues. @Akrimonious
