Sea Commander P-1000
Fictional description:
The Sea Commander P-1000 is a 1000 series Twin Commander adapted for close Marine Patrolling. Necessary changes were made to the aircraft to fit the role including the installation of a torpedo bay, internally loading sonobuoy dispenser, night vision camera, wing fuel tanks, flares and MAD sensor. In addition the engines have been tuned, and the propellers have been replaced with 5 blade scimitar props to cope with the extra weight. A three man crew is required, 1 pilot, 1 co-pilot/loader and 1 sensor controller with room for an additional operative. Although the plane can come fully loaded with 4 torpedoes and 4 sonobuoys, normal operation in peace time would only require 2 torpedoes and 4 sonobuoys to reduce overall weight and maximise patrol distance.
Instructions:
Set flaps with VTOL
to 50% and Throttle up. Rotate at approximately 140Mph, retract Landing Gears
and reset flaps.
Release any sonobuoys with AG4
through AG7
from manual loading poop shoot at the rear of the plane.
Detected a sub? No problem, set weapons mode for Air to Ground and AG1
to open torpedo bay doors. The torpedoes will become armed only while doors are open. Aiming is manual, line up to your target and release with normal firing controls.
Boom, great shot! Watch out for return fire, lose those missiles by using the flare dispensers installed to each side of the plane. Out of ammo? You better head home now and re-arm. Line up with the runway and reduce power to 25%. Set flaps to full and extend Landing Gears
. Once landed, open the torpedo side doors with AG2
to reload.

Warning-
Engaging in ship combat with torpedo doors open is an easy way to trash this plane.
I love literally everything else about the plane though!
I love the inset “poop shoot”, it’s very aesthetically satifying! Great build!
Amazing!
Aircraft is within regulations. Good luck!
The original commander was designed a cargo aircraft. So I could see it. Rock on hoover.
