After her role as the primary fighter of Se Suomi Imperiumi was adequately filled by newer types in the mid-1940s, the Haukka either went on to serve in a colonial defense force OR were upgraded and refitted as the IVLK-9f with two person seating a more powerful engine and really proving itself as a legitimate asset as it introduced aerobatic maneuvers to pilots fresh off of the basic trainers. Unlike the IVLK-9e, the 9f Intermediate Trainer is unarmed.
