Shipty Co. NJ-1 Cowboy {WW2 Jet Challenge}
Loved by pilots, hated by everyone else, the Cowboy was named after the fronteir of jet age travel. Designed in late 1941, it had drawn information from the Italian Caproni Campini N.1 and Gloster E.28/39. Unfortunately, no one knew how to use a jet for naval use, and problems plauged the design for years. There were flaws in the design, poor engineering expertise, low budget, and one instance where a prototype missed the landing and bounced and exploded and sank a poor destoryer nearby. However, a decent style was complete by early 1945. Too late to see most combat, but effective in proxy conflicts in beating the Japanese away. Faster than a zero, just as maneuverable and with a greater load, the Cowboy was an excellent strike fighter ahead of its time, seeing service until the mid 60s, when all squads were equipped with the Naval variation of the A-108 Skyfox.
IMPORTANT
-Very nimble at points, take caution.
-Design flaws also made the gear weak, to land, do it as as slow and low as possible
