Experimental french planes serie

This thing never flew, it is based on a plan drawn by Lucien Servanty.

1 : 1 SCALE

Only 239 parts !

Read before use !!

Controls :

AG1-2-3-4 : turn on the engines
AG5 : Lights
AG6 : Arm R511 missile
AG7 : Chute
Trim to trim !

How to use :

Activate the motors before touching the throttle, then take off at full power while holding the stick towards you. Then, for more stability, adjust the Trim.

For landing, Approach the base by reducing the speed, cut the engines above the point you are aiming for (Throttle to 0), widen the parachutes (AG7), if you fall too quickly, put some power back, be careful to stay straight.

The cute R511 missile is from WarHawk95

Advantages :

  • Out of the ordinary, beautiful and strange design at the same time

  • Detailed

  • Small plane

  • Can work on any device, even your old potato phone

  • Fast

  • Detailed cockpit

Disadvantages :

  • The take-off is simple, but the landing is quite... peculiar..

  • Got only one missile, no cannons.

History :

In January 1955, Lucien Servanty's team proposed an ADAV device (VTOL in french), more or less derived from his Trident, the DeVer (for Décollage Vertical : Vertical Takeoff). It had then been under study since 1954.

The Déver was of the "Tail-sitter" type (taking off on the tail), with 3 tapered straight wings very far back and the reactors placed at their end. Canards (fixed), with an arrow of 45°, were placed aft of the cockpit.

The landing gear consisted of 3 skids retracting into the fuselage. Take-off would have been possible up to a wind speed of about 80 km/h. The belly tail would have been reinforced to allow a belly landing if needed. The position of the pilot, lying or sitting, was not yet determined and the cockpit was obviously drowned in the cell.

The Déver was intended for area bomber interception and only carried an air-to-air missile (like the Trident and generally all projects and prototypes of the time).

The planned weight was approximately 4 tons (small plane !!), but the planned reactors were given for 1440 kgp with the CP, which was insufficient. To allow vertical takeoff, it was necessary to consider using the rocket engine, which was designed for supersonic acceleration and whose operating time was limited to 45 seconds.

The device was complex, which meant a long development. He was finally abandoned. The only place this extraordinary thing will fly is on SP...

    @CharlesDeGaulle Très bon build 👍

The SO4000 is a beautiful and interesting plane, which notably allowed the development of the Vautour.
Right now I'm doing a SNCASO Espadon !
I might make a SO4000 after my Espadon, thank you for giving me the idea !

SNCASO SO.4000 might tickle your interest based on your recent builds. It was an experimental bomber, and the first indigenously designed jet bomber in France
