Self Launching Sailplane

262 AnnaAndersdotter  1.2 years ago

This sailpane has a small jet engine and a small fuel tank in a compartment behind the cockpit. It is capable of self-launching and climbing up to a soaring altitude, or you can use the jet engine to get out of trouble if you've lost too much altitude and need to reach a safe landing area.

AG1 opens and closes the canopy.
AG2 deploys the jet engine.

Note that the jet engine responds to throttle input, but it will cut off to 0% throttle automatically when it is retracted. If you put it away while you have your throttle set to anything above 0%, the engine will automatically return to that throttle level when it is deployed again.

Oh, and it has little working rudder pedals inside the cockpit.
