@Griffon1 I have more of an insignia than a roundel, but I have been thinking of making up some lore behind some of my aircraft.
Making "Ace" planes is actually really fun, especially when you get to making individual tailcodes and squadron numbers just to flesh it out. It brings some substance to any fictional air force. I'd recommend making a nice roundel to put on your aircraft. Nothing too complex, but distinctive enough to be it's own thing
