Do lights in video games use real electricity?
In the most technical sense, yes, lamps in video games consume electricity. The instructions being executed by the CPU and GPU to 'form' the lamp use real electrons to process. A daisy chain of electrons makes their way (in no particular order) from the HDD to the CPU to the RAM to the video card to the monitor.
