About Biman Bangladesh Airlines:
Biman Bangladesh Airlines, commonly known as Biman (/bi?m??n/ bee-mah-n, Bengali: ['bima?n]), is the national flag carrier of Bangladesh. With its main hub at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, the airline also operates flights from its secondary hubs at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong and as well as Osmani International Airport in Sylhet. The airline provides international passenger and cargo services to multiple destinations and has air service agreements in 42 countries. The headquarters of the airline, Balaka Bhaban, is located in Kurmitola, in the northern part of Dhaka. Annual Hajj flights, transporting tourists, migrants, and non-resident Bangladeshi workers and the activities of its subsidiaries form an integral part of the corporate business of the airline. Bangladesh's air transport sector, which is experiencing an 8% annual growth rate thanks to a large number of outbound tourists, domestic tourists, and non-resident Bangladeshi travellers, is very competitive with stiff competition among some private Bangladeshi airlines as well as Biman.

About the Airbus A310:
The Airbus A310 is a wide-body aircraft, designed and manufactured by Airbus Industrie GIE, then a consortium of European aerospace manufacturers. Airbus had identified a demand for an aircraft smaller than the A300, the first twin-jet wide-body. On 7 July 1978, the A310 (initially the A300B10) was launched with orders from Swissair and Lufthansa. On 3 April 1982, the first prototype conducted its maiden flight, and the A310 received its type certificate on 11 March 1983.

About S2-AFT:
S2-AFT was the only Airbus A310 (out of 6) to be painted in the short-lived 2010 livery. The A310 was supposed to be a replacement for Biman’s aging DC-10’s during the 1990’s, but the Trijets continued to play a part in Biman’s history. This livery was only seen on 2 other aircraft; a new Boeing 737-800, and a leased 777-200ER. The A310’s were fully retired in 2016, with S2-AFT being the 4th one being banished from the fleet.
