Boeing 314 Clipper
Flying boat produced between 1938-1941 for Pan Am and the US Navy. To take off, move the VTOL slider to the top to increase angle of attack on the lower wings and help get the nose out of the water (to accelerate faster, leave it at the 1st notch above center, then increase the rest of the way when you reach rotation speed around 125 mph). As airspeed increases, the angle can be decreased to maintain proper trim.
In the air, it handles...like you would expect a boat to handle in the air. It is somewhat top heavy and has poor roll stability, so use gentle inputs and don't expect to turn on a dime. It is especially unforgiving in a stall. It is actually fairly tolerant to rough landings as long as it does not contact the water nose down and don't catch one of the main wings in the water.
