Everything that made the Egilhard unique was stripped away, but why? After the German economic crash in 1981, Germany quickly sold off large quantities of military equipment in desperation. How this affected the Fi-356 line was the careful consideration to strip each plane of its Rothbauer Alloy and machine guns. The 90g chaingun was replaced with a 7.92mm alternative. These were then sold to Scandinavia and Britain, whilst the planes were kept. As for the planes’ altered frame, multiple issues regarding maneuverability and fuel efficiency were fixed within the first two years of its introduction.
