Daimler-Benz Jagdstrahlbomber
Many, many thanks to General360 for providing the basis of this. It's barely recognizable as I changed almost everything on it apart from most of the main fuselage and most of the landing gear. Make sure to check out his DB 609 here >> https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/RDHbMe/Daimler-Benz-DB-609?showAllComments=true#comment-1708801
(for some reason the successor system refused to work)
**History**
Designed in 1945 as a jet fighter-bomber, this Daimler-Benz project was meant as a replacement for the many Jabo (Jagdbomber) planes that were in service with the Luftwaffe at that time.
Many of its features were unusual, yet futuristic for that time. Forward-swept wings were reminiscent of older projects, especially what was gonna be the further development of the already-aging Heinkel He 162. Vertical stabilizers were placed on the tips of the main wings while the horizontal stabilizers were placed in a V-shape.
The engine placement on this project was something that worried the RLM at that time. They were basically two new BMW 018A engines placed on two winglets around the mid tail section. Knowing problems with similar engine placement projects like the Henschel Hs 132, the RLM rejected the aircraft for service within the Luftwaffe.
Despite their overall fear, the RLM ordered three prototypes to be built. Only one, however, was fully built with the other two found still in construction by Allied forces. The BV-74 (that was its radio signature) prototype successfully served for a brief time with the Erprobungskommando 11 before the Reich capitulated. It was found in good, fully working shape in a hangar near Berlin by advancing American troops.
The fate of the BV-74, to this date, remains unknown. Some sources state that, after the war, the US conducted flight tests on it sometime in 1947 and then placed it in a hangar. Others state that the aircraft crashed during a flight test in Britain.
Armed with one 50 mm autocannon for anti-bomber missions and twin 30 mm MK108B guns, it surely had a lot of weapons strapped to it. It could also carry up to six 250-pound bombs beneath its wings.
While not the most agile (it reached about 560 mph at 20.000 ft) of aircraft, it was reported that it did outstandingly well on its first and only dive bombing mission against a convoy of Soviet tanks.
**Controls**
AG8 (activated by default) for those that are lazy and want it to fly smooth without having to do some trimming (it essentially activates a gyro).
AG1 for main 50 mm gun.
AG2 for the twin 30 mm guns.
AG3 for the two rockets.
AG4+AG5 for the four 250 lbs bombs.
VTOL for flaps << it is recommended to use them especially in combination with the gyro. You can also use them during takeoff.

What does BV mean?
Awesome!
@DuckingAreospace Thanks!
Great job its such a beautiful aircraft!
@JZMS16 Not taking requests at the moment. Already building something that does take some time.
Maybe I will once I'm done. Nothing's sure.
I have a request. Can you build a Daimler benz project b to scale
@PhantomBladeCorp ok this explains the name of the plane.
@Irobert55 I do speak some German but I'm not.
are you german?
Nah. I'm on my iPad, which is made of 100% pure cabbage. I'll test it this after noon or tomorrow possibly. @PhantomBladeCorp
Great work. The swastika is flawless, and flaps are a good feature, the payload is just enough, and it flies amazingly.
@bjac0 Panzer beans
Cool beans
@General360 Nope, totally not your DB 609 in here... Move on...
@jamesPLANESii Thanks for the spotlight! Did you test it?
@BogdanX Yeah, I was a bit lazy and didn't bother to disable collisions on the 50 mm. I actually left it that way to sort of resemble the sound the 50 mm on the Narwhal makes in War Thunder.
@BogdanX whistle
Unless it does?
Lol this plane would never fly in real life. XD
