Tu-22M3 Backfire
Hi everyone Walrus Jr. here. I’ve been absent a lot recently due to life and lack of motivation, so Sr. has been putting out most of the posts recently. This has been my first build in a while and it’s good to be back building again.

Yes, and sorry I did not get back to you sooner. Was in New York for a while. @Vehicle
Can I use your back landing gear? I can't make a proper landing gear for my upcoming tu-22m because I'm only using IOS.
@WalrusAircraft no problem, love you and Walrus Jr.'s builds.
Thanks for the upvotes @ramjet 😃
Thanks! @Dllama4
Awesome! This is actually my next project after I'm done with my aircraft carrier.
@Blue0Bull - Thanks!
@Notapier Thanks man!
congrats on the trailer
:)
@Aerobako Thanks! Its been good and I'm almost done with my math course. I'll be able to build more once it's finished.
@WalrusAircraft Finetuner is the best thing EVER.
@F104Deathtrap Jr. - Thanks! I really liked what you did with your Foxbat, so I thought I would try that on my Tu-22m. I just used the Fine Tuner and roughly moved them to where they should be. I went back on a second pass and and fixed them up. Mirroring them was not hard but took awhile. I was too lazy to make them move so I made Sr. do that XD
@WalrusAircraft I see you made your own exhaust nozzles! I tried that on my Foxbat back before I learned about modding tools, had to type the whole thing out in notepad to xml rotate all the parts, it took FOREVER. You really put a lot of time into this thing, huh?
@F104Deathtrap Thanks! Sr. made the Bear so I thought I would do the follow up
The long awaited sequel to your Bear, awesome!
@WalrusAircraft I love Clancy's style. It's easy for me to picture whats going on. Plus, the characters are always well planned and realistic
@ChiChiWerx - Walrus Sr. here. Actually, there is one VTOL jet for power partType="Engine-Jet-5" with powerMultiplier="20" The other engines are there for sound. When you add more at lower power, you get tremendous roar. Jr. pointed this out to me. Most people think it is a waste, but if you want large jet sound, you need multiple engines, and the Backfire is a loud aircraft. Note that the smaller engines have powerMultiplier="0.1"
Cool, thanks. So you're using extra VTOL engines to get the power boost and the XML modded exhaust nozzles to get the large plumes, thanks!
@ChiChiWerx - EngineThrustPort.State exhaustScale="3.2,3.2,3.2" exhaustStartColorOverridePrimary="435EA1FF" Note that I had four thrust ports (two on each side), since I wanted to have two colors, but ended up with the same color.
@ChiChiWerx Jr. here. I used VTOL engines and scaled the nozzles up to get the size. I then (With some help) found a HTML color picker and found an picture with the afterburner on. There should be a slot for the color code in the XML. (On the nozzle, or "Thrust port" I think.)
Quick question: How do you do the "afterburner" setting? Well, not how do you activate it...how do you build it?
;)
@WalrusAircraft Well I'm glad to see your back! Hows life treating you guys?
Sr. Here. One of my favorite books from that era. @Geebers
It's fitting that I just read Red Storm Rising!
