AASTP-124-2
1943 the A.A.S.T.P-124-2 was being developed as a high speed jet interceptor with decent manouverbility and a high max altitude to intercept bomber raids, around a year later after multiple test was a sea level test where they flew this aircraft max throttle 10 feet above the atlantic and following the coastline after 30 seconds of sustained speed the glass fractured than broke shortly after resulting in serious injury and loss of control plummeting the aircraft into the coast killing the pilot on impact with the cold sea water with the aircraft sinking 1000 feet into the depths resulting in termination of the program.
