P-61.C "Black Widow"
The P-61 "Black Widow" fighter is a heavy fighter developed by the Northrop Corporation of the United States during World War II in the 1940s.The P-61 fighter is the first night fighter designed for the United States. It is similar in size to a medium bomber and is equipped with two 2,000-horsepower Pratt & Whitney R-2800-10 "Wasp" engines and two rudders on the tail support. Use the front three-point landing gear. The aircraft was equipped with the world's first radar navigation system at that time, and it could conduct aerial combat at night. The fuselage of the aircraft is painted black and is often hidden in the night sky, relying on its advanced airborne radar to search for targets. The P-61 fighter is the first aircraft in the world to use FRP as a radome, and it is also the world's first heavy fighter with a 3-person crew.The P-61 fighter made its maiden flight on May 26, 1942, was commissioned from August to September 1943, and retired from active service in 1954.
