Initially intended as an alternative to helicopters for reconnaisance and search & rescue roles, the Vega found favor among the Engineering corps as a demolitions aircraft, serving as a stable, easily maneuverable vehicle for destroying bridges, dams, and vital infrastructure in combat zones.
