Due to heavy losses in daytime bombing raids, the RAF wanted to to bombing runs at night instead. So the Burnham MK IV was given a Night variant, where it was painted black, it had its heavy bombs removed due to lack of precision at night (only carpet bombing could be used) and was given a radar package to help aid night bombing, however this took the place of its guns, rendering it useless against fighters, however, it being painted black and flying at night made it hard for other planes to see them. To counteract new german radar assisted flak they added chaff. Ag1 for chaff Ag2 for bombs VTOL up for bomb bay open
