The AF-8G is the final planned evolutionary upgrade of the AF-8 series.
The G-model is designed for light attack and close air support. Many issues with the B and E models were fixed, along with some minor upgrades including a slightly more powerful engine.
Entering service from AF-8E conversions, it was first deployed with NBS-2 in 1985 and saw combat during the 1987 Centralis nuclear incident. It's light construction and relative maneuverability earned it a decent reputation among pilots.
It is projected to remain in service for as long as airframes last.
