the altax was a relatively unremarkable hatchback in base form. it had a 70hp inline 4 and a aerodynamic 5 door body however that all changed in 1984 when the altax entered group b rally. that opened the floodgates for many sporty variants over the years from the sport to the 6R. the sport was the entry level trim with a higher power 4 banger and independent rear suspension.
