@JEAMiner agreed, it IS a good build. Sorry about the nit-picking, it's just an interesting subject.

To @MrDoolittle @ChiChiWerx @TemDesBur and @Tully2001: this isn't primarely a replica, I really just wanted to test the cockpit and it is primarely an Upgrade of a previous craft, for which I had less possibilities to keep it similar to the spitfire

@TemDesBur I think the wings kinda look like the builder took off the the tips of a spit and stuck them on 109 wings

@TemDesBur @Tully2001 agreed, elements of both aircraft in this build, I'm glad the community knows its aircraft...do I see a little A-36/P-51 as well in the nose shape?!?...this guy posts a unique and decent build and we all incessantly critique it with our intimate knowledge of WWII fighters..! @JEAMiner deserves a Spotlight simply for putting up with our non-stop back and forth, here you go!

@TemDesBur where did they Mount the guns then?

@TemDesBur over all the wing shape isn't nearly as round as a spit plus the nose the isn't as prominently upward. The mesh canopy does pass the fuselage in height yet it is still mesh. Honestly I would have to say this a plane made out of scrap from a 109 and Spit crash.

@Tully2001 you are very correct about that! Certainly closer to a 109...

@Tully2001 I do see what you mean by the canopy shape, though, very reminiscent of a 109, however, everything in SP is an approximation anyways, so I could chalk that up to the difficulties of reproducing a replica.

@Tully2001 so, it's a single inline-prop engined, single pilot fighter aircraft with something between an elliptical and tapered wing, conventional empennage and outward-retracting landing gear. So, you are correct, it could be either the Spit or the 109. In fact, this was illustrated in real life as the two could be difficult to distinguish between (especially in the tangle of a dogfight) and pilots had to take a second look to make sure they weren't shooting at their wingmen! I do see what you mean by the canopy shape, though, very reminiscent of a 109, however, everything in SP is an approximation anyways, so I could chalk that up to the difficulties of reproducing a replica.

@ChiChiWerx Yes, there is lots of examples, but there was only one Spitfire with german engine)). Funny thing that after the war, Spain, who got the licence to produce He-111 and Bf-109, but obviousle was unable to buy german engines anumore, produced both with Spitfire's RR Merlin engines instead)))

@ChiChiWerx Luftwaffe actually had one captured, they used it for different tests, and futhermore, when the engine wore off, they've fitted it with german inverted-V Daimler Benz engines, they used it for testing various engines of this type) For example BF-109 G-6, G-16 and K-4 higher powered DB 603-605 engines (both are based on original BF-109E DB 601, but almost twise as powerful due to superchargers and nitrox and wather-methanol ingection))) first saw air in a spitfire)))
