Derived from the land based Type 5, the Victor differed most notably in it’s V-tail and turboprop powerplant, which made it well suited to the naval fighter role. For it’s primary armament it carried two AA-Mk2 Copperhead missiles, but it also wielded a pair of 20mm cannons. Several naval squadrons operated the model, but in most cases it was purely a stopgap before jet fighters became practical for use at sea.
