F-14A "Project Sedjil"
So I heard the game now has cockpits and whatnot, so I took my F-14AM build and added the cockpits and whatnot.
The F-14 needs no introduction, an excellent and renowned air superiority fighter in service with the US Navy, being one of the first 4th generation fighter jets out there, the A variant is the earliest version of the F-14 to enter service, it is the initial two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather interceptor fighter variant, with little precision ground attack capability, although this would be added on the later modifications of the aircraft, it is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney TF30 augmented turbofan engines, with latter variants receiving the improved JTF10A engines, this variant served in many mission throughout it's service life, making it's debut in the American withdrawal from Saigon, and then making it's way to the Lebanese Civil War, and then scoring splashes during the two Gulf of Sidra Incident, it also took part in the Iran-Iraq War, which is the period where this build came from.
During the Iran-Iraq War, the F-14A were used by Iran in an AWACS type role and interception role, it scored several kills with it's AiM-54s namely Su-22s, Mirage F1s, and MiG-23s, however Iran's AiM-54 supplies were running out, so a domestic program to integrate the MiM-23 Hawk surface to air missile to the F-14 was conducted, which resulted in two aircraft converted to carry such hybrid weaponry, which is what this replica is.
In this SimplePlanes version, it's basically just my old F-14AM but now with a cockpit and a different camouflage, but it has a different weapons loadout as well, for long range it now has the AiM-23C Sedjil missile, the one converted from the MiM-23, with a range of 90km, for medium range it has four AiM-7E Sparrows recessed in the lower fuselage, and for short range it has the AiM-9P Sidewinder, the controls have also been changed, now VTOL up does the wing sweep, and VTOL down for flaps, now Trim is actually trim, the glove vanes are now automated (will deploy at around mach 1) and AG4 opens the cockpit, for structural changes now the formation lights are actually formation lights instead of the stretched regular lights, and the wing spoilers have been simplified, there's also the IRIAF text under the cockpit near the intakes.
Controls (will also be included in the crafts instruction) :
AG2 : Tailhook
AG3 : Drop everything
AG4 : Open cockpit
AG5 : Formation lights
AG6 : Landing light
AG7 : Lights
VTOL up : wing sweep
VTOL down : flaps
Trim : Trim
Notes :
• Careful using the flaps, it can suddenly roll the aircraft if pitching aggressively.
• The aircraft's really heavy especially with those two AiM-23s, so mind that.
