AAC F-45 "Nagareboshi"
This had taken a lot of time for me to get right. I'm not very good at making jets, so it's not good, but it's as good as I can go with this plane.
The ACME Aircraft Company's F-45 "Nagareboshi" is a multirole attack fighter designed in the early 1980's. The design was made as a response to the A-10 Thunderbolt, which it was to become a replacement of, but it never did. The plane was a cross of the legendary Gloster Meteor and the A-10 itself.
The name was coined when the chief designer was taking leave over in Japan. He happened to stumble upon a series called Urusei Yatsura. The main character, who is named Ataru Moroboshi, inspired this. His name roughly translates to "to be struck by a falling star". The Japanese word for shooting star is nagareboshi, so he decided that it would be a good name and he recommended it to the team, who used it for the aircraft.
The first few test flights at the Bonneville Salt Flats proved to be unsuccessful. The team, who were now called the Stormtroopers, worked on the aircraft for about a year before they finally got it working right. The official test flight took place on July 6, 1983. The plane went into mass production when the U.S. Air Force ordered 1,200 of them. The first one rolled out of the ACME Aircraft production factory 2-A on November 30, 1983.
