LT-2 Laser guided bomb<-3 Gliding Guided Bomb
LT-2 (Le Ting 2)LGB is the first mass-produced guided bomb in China. The size of the basic bomb kit is 500kg/1,000-pound universal bomb body. Paving I/II annular airfoil seeker with seeker and traditional quadrant detection assembly are used. The tail kit is similar to Paveway I in configuration. This design will use bang guidance control law without roll stability. The rear edge surface of the cruciform tail is controlled in an arrangement similar to GNPP KAB-500L. LT-2 has been widely deployed in PLA Air Force fighters, including JH-7 Flying Leopard/Flounder, A-5/Q-5 Fantan, FC-1, J-8B Finback and J-10 China Duck.Thunderbolt LT-3 is 3.58 meters long and 0.38 meters in diameter, and its spread wing span is 0.95 meters. It weighs 564 kilograms and has a cruising range of 24 kilometers. It can penetrate reinforced concrete 1 up to 1.5 meters. LT-3 is the most complex guided bomb developed by China industry so far. This weapon combines satellite/inertial guidance package and gimbal proportional navigation semi-active laser homing seeker in the tail kit from LS-6 250 gliding bomb. The weapon uses a bundled scattering kit similar to that used in GBU-31/32 JDAM series. The gimbal platform is the closest conceptual design to TI Paveway III LLLGB-LT-3 occupies the same capability niche as the American enhanced EGBU-24 or GBU-54/55/56(V)/ B laser JDAM(LJDAM) weapon.
