Boeing 777-300plus | RCP Airways
This is the first GalacticaAsia aircraft to have a full VR-friendly cockpit, but is also the first to look cursed. I wonder how he'll feel about this...

Took me long enough...
I've nothing much to say with this one. It's just that this project, in particular, has taken me an insane amount of time, as I added more features than I previously intended to, and I only play SP after I finish my daily studying.
Anyways, my sleep schedule has been ruined (partially because I slept 6 hours last night), so I'm not in the best state of mind. Enjoy the rest of the description!
Lore
The year is 2003, and the world's largest twinjet, the 777-300ER, was rapidly becoming a bestseller.
Around this point of time, a group of researchers from RCP Engineering's Experimental Research division found that extending the 777's nose by 5.8 meters would increase the aircraft's passenger and cargo capacity by 15%.
By 2004, a design involving shifting the nose upwards and extending the lower deck, creating a 747-style nose, was formulated. This design allowed for the addition of a cargo door, allowing for the 777 to be converted into a full-fledged cargo aircraft with 96% the capacity and a 17% improvement in fuel savings.
One chief engineer at RCPe, Rofthard J. Kowling, saw great potential in the design and brought it up with Boeing consultants and airlines. Boeing was initially skeptical that the design would turn a profit, and feared a deviation of resources as they were working on the 747-8 at the time. Rofthard was insistent, and after 3 months of negotiations, both parties reached a consensus:
- Boeing and RCPe engineers would collaborate on designing the aircraft.
- Production of this special variant would be outsourced to the RCPe Great Bay Plant, the only wide-body assembly line in the country at the time.
- RCPe would bear 85% of the 777-300plus's production cost, but would also get 85% of the profit.
- RCPe and Boeing were not allowed to steal customers from each other for the 777-300plus and 747-8; if an airline began negotiations with one manufacturer, the other would not attempt to convince that airline to buy their aircraft.
Thus, in 2010, RCPe's first 777-300plus took to the skies, and the first airframe was delivered to RCP Airways in 2013.

Production
In total, 158 777-300pluses (44 airliners, 23 business jets, 91 freighters) were produced between 2013 and 2023 (the present). Considering that previous Boeing estimates held at below 100, and that only 124 747-8's were built, the success of the project truly shocked everyone.
The 777-300plus was successful mainly because its twinjet configuration allowed for smaller fuel and maintenance costs, because the GE90 was widely available for backwards compatibility, and because RCPe salesmen were extremely competent in selling their product. The US$1.9 billion spent in development became a small price to pay for the gains achieved through the plane. And unlike the 747-8, 777-300pluses are still being produced for airlines such as Qatar, Asiana Airways and Saudia.
Features
Exterior
- The design changes speak for itself.
- Windows on the doors and probes on the nose (added realism)
- Black stripes on the wings (I don't know why they're there, but I added them for the realism)
Cockpit
NOTE: there aren't any instructions on how to use the cockpit. However, all levers are located on the panel with the throttle levers, and they are all labelled, so you'll figure it out.
- Added till (the thing used to steer the plane on the ground), PFD, mini-map, engine throttle indicators
- Replaced throttle and landing gear levers with default VR levers.
- Mounted yoke, flaps lever and trim lever on joystick bases so they can be grabbed in VR

@BaconAircraft can you make this a successor to the original aircraft? I think it’s only right to do so
My bad I forgot to tag everyone in the teaser 😢
This is sweet ! Reverse thrust, so fun landing l and the topographical radar ? ! Get out of town... how cool is that ? !

@TupolevTU144Charger underrated comment
ae
I dare you to make Boeing 747SSP (747SP but even shorter)
What if...
“ohhhh so thats what they were gonna use the 747 parts for… hmm.”
"Yes officer this plane right here"
Cursed but fire
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes ah, never expected it at all lol, but still, also, I have a couple of small builds modification in the works, so far its almost done, not going to reveal it yet tho.
@DatMaluchGuy19 I followed you since we talk more often now
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes also, did you follow me by accident? Or... Did you follow me for real? Either way.
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes kay...
@DatMaluchGuy19 uh I think I’ll do it myself
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes hey mate, can i make the cargo version?
Thank you for flying RCP air Last time 20% of our flights arrived on time and make sure you die RCP Airways
@Pan bunga burger
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes that's one bad mother
Mom can we have 747
No we have a 747 at home
the 747 at home 💀
@Pan …his mom?
