F-44 Sabre II USAF
After the successes of the F-86 Sabre in the Korean War and Vietnam war, the DoD seeked to develop and aircraft that can achieve similar accomplishments and earn itself a name in history books. The Advanced Hypersonic Fighter Project was introduced to replace the aging F-14 Tomcats as a long range, naval strike fighter. What came of the project were several leaps of years of advanced technology into unknown territory, several concept designs were produced and put into test but the XF-88, later renamed to F-44 Sabre II, caught the DoD's attention. It featured a much more advanced omni-directional Sightseeing HUD for the helmet that enabled the pilot to see through the entire aircraft and allows them to use X-Ray mode in flight to see through buildings. The Sabre II boasted a tailess design, properly engineered to be as maneauverable as its counterparts, the F-22 Raptor and the F-18 Hornet. Armed to with a 27mm gattling cannon, it has internal weapon bays for carrying weapons internally thus increasing stealth (not modeled sadly). The Sabre II is apable of reaching speeds up to mach 3.8 at sea levels and up to mach 5.5 at 15ooo meters..
