FX-130 With Launch Arm
“We remember the times where we almost have created the first Airborne Aircraft Carrier, but we forgot how we will recover the plane. Such simple task made a whole series of aircraft useless.”
——————[ Model History ]——————
The FX-130 was an experimental technology demonstrator alongside the XAAC-10 Strike Ship Alpha. The demonstrator revolves around a parasite or microfighter that the AAC-747 would’ve been using if it went operational.
The fighter is an extremely agile and fast aircraft topping off at 1,300 mph around 10,000 ft. The size and weight are extremely small, thus helping it achieve the fast speed without any increase in Thrust output. The aircraft can fold its wings, which helps in the storage inside the ship. As this is supposed to be an aircraft operating in the skies, little focus was given on the landing method on the ground in the event of an emergency, but they did a small structural remodeling on the durability of the underside of the craft to allow a belly landing.
During the initial completion of the XAAC-10, the SFA requested a microfighter that would operate on the new AAC, but as soon as the first model came out, the AAC program was quickly shut down due to the rising complications in radar visibility, operation costs, and the general uninteresting characteristics. The SFA turned to the US DOD if their AAC program is still ongoing, but was disappointed when they knew it was also canceled.
With the rising aerial attacks on multiple small FOBs, the FX-130 was brought up again as a mean of quick retaliation and aerial relief unit before the main counterattack unit can strike. The Land and Air Divisions now collaborated on how they should launch this craft into the sky easily, and thus, the launch arm was also created. The Launch Arm is a heavy modification of an ARV and the launch arm of the XAAC-10. Though the craft cannot reattach using the onboard magnet, it can still belly land without much damage. A question is raised about the landing strip length but it was found that a flat concrete strip of about 100 meters is only needed to land safely with room to spare.
The aircraft now is under review and potential field tests execution are given to XTF-001 “Strike team”
