Designed by Bob Pond and developed by Scaled Composites, this legendary aircraft was made to replace the vintage warbirds that race in the unlimited class of the Reno air races. It had huge potential, sadly, the only example was destroyed after an engine failure in 1993. Since then, the Pond racer has never been revived.
