Fictional story
In the year 1990, Yeager International Airlines was looking for a potential replacement for the aging 727-100. Initially the airline was bound to replace the aircraft with the much later MD-90, But then Fokker, a Dutch aviation company wanted to sign an agreement to trade YIA'S 727-100s in return of the Fokker 100 aircraft. YIA later agreed and traded their 34 727-100s.
The aircraft went into service in 1992 and was retired in 2013 after being replaced by the 737NG and the CRJ-1000. One of the first retired Fokker 100 of YIA was retired in 2008 and had scrapped in 2016 due to insufficient customers for the Fokker 100 after the company ceased operation.
