Durin P.3
The Aircraft Division of L. Naslund Shipbuilding (Durin) P.3 or Type 217 conceived in a fighter aircraft competition in late 1934 for a fighter powered by a Hispano Suiza 12Y (V-2200) vee engine.
Overview
The Durin firm which would later form as an independent company under the same name initiated a project for a monoplane fighter slated to replace the obsolete fleets of Curtiss XP-10, XP-23, Boeing P-26, Heinkel He 51 and older fighters and supplement the Bleriots, Consolidated PB-2s and Wedell XP-34 in service or in development.
Comparable aircraft are the Seversky P-35, Fokker D.XXI and the Hawker Hurricane I.
