Auto Credit Based on PapaKernels's ALMOSTLIGHT CHALLENGE!!!
TO FLY: VTOL halfway up, throttle 100%, you'll start flying if you use max pitch at around 20mph. The rotor will shut down at around 80mph. It may try to stall but if it does that use max pitch down until it recovers. In level flight it reaches ~253 mph but can get to 300mph in a shallow dive. To land either slow down and land like normal, or purposely stall until under 80mph then use some throttle to slow your fall. The rotor is actually intended to be one engine with 175hp, but uses a contra-rotating propeller so it does not yaw too much. Has retractable LG.

@NexusGaming yep, as long as it meets the criteria.
@PapaKernels wait can i make something like this, but more ultralight-y
@NexusGaming sorry man, its something that I think wouldn't really be an almostlight, but you could do it just not for the challenge.
@PapaKernels damn it, i would have done something like the Kea but with tilting wings but øø₣
@NexusGaming ummmmmm, not very ultralighty, I dont think I would allow it
@PapaKernels how bout a tiltrotor
@PapaKernels i will try making the latter's general design into a sort of ultralight kind of thing
@NexusGaming well, not very ultralighty, maybe try a bit of like the scout kea, the bushplane and some of ultralights planes, I think that is more of what I'm looking for.
@PapaKernels alternatively I may try making something like this but idk. Or even a plane like this
@NexusGaming yes it barely meets the weight criteria. That stall speed is about what I was thinking, but that rotor does effect how I can tell the speed.
@PapaKernels notes
1. The rotor kicks in at around 80mph so technically i think the stall speed is something in the range of 55 to 60mph, but the rotor reduces that down to 0 technically
2. I'm working on a variant of this with modifications to enhance the flight characteristics, but it will likely be too heavy and possibly slightly too large for the challenge
10/25 - first impressions: not bad but lacks alot of sophisticality and detail
35/50 - looks: it's based on a autogyro so not really an ultralight, but it looks good enough.
45/100 - flight: flight is pretty wonky, its alot to get used to. Stall speed was hard for me to find but it was around like 60? Nexus if you know the stall speed it would help your total points. Its pitch is good. It's just hard to control when doing alot of hard maneuvers, and that's what I'm looking for, a plane that can do hard maneuvers.
15/25 - details: details aren't bad, but the cockpit could be not a default cockpit peice, as well as the landing gear. I did like the small little details on the aircraft, like the exhaust ports and the simple striping.
45/50 plausibility, yes its plausible, but the handling in flight I think would make any pilot fearful when flying it.
A total of 150/250 points, just lost some stuff with the simplicity, and the weird flight characteristics. Dont be discouraged though, your the first entry, and you have another one you can put up. Nice work!
@NexusGaming well you had like a good 20feet I'm pretty sure. Still looks good tho.
@PapaKernels the length limit kinda spooked me into making it really short
It's a bit shorter than I was expecting, it looks good, once I get some free time I'll test it.
